Show & Tell

At each meeting, members are encouraged to display their blooming orchids for informal judging. Points are awarded to first and second place in standard and miniature categories. At the end of the year, awards are given for the member with the most points in the two categories: Clara Fanelli Award for standard orchids and Jim Topmiller Traveling Trophy for miniatures.

All plants entered will be graded and given points for quality. At year’s end, an award will also be given for the grower in each of three categories (beginner, intermediate, experienced) with the most points.

The specimens submitted should have been grown by the member for at least the last 4 months. Recently purchased specimens may be brought and shared, but are not judged.

Plant Raffle

As a fundraising effort for the society, we have a plant raffle at each meeting. Participants can purchase chances ($1 each or 6 for $5) to win some beautiful plants. These are pre-purchased by the society or donated by our members who have extras or a nice plant that they are ready to pass on to another hobbyist.

Join us for a meeting! We are open to anyone with an interest in growing orchids!
