Kentucky Orchid Society at the Home, Garden and Remodeling Show

The Kentucky Orchid Society had a booth for the first time at the recent HG&R Show at the Kentucky Fairground and Exposition Center. We were one of many vendors but one of only a handful with live plants for sale. We had some gorgeous plants from two vendors in Hawaii and shared our love of orchids with anyone who would listen–and there were many! Many people were new to orchid growing and we answered a lot of questions and dispelled many myths about orchids. We enrolled three new members and look forward to seeing them at our future meetings. Three donated plants and a gorgeous orchid cake baked by Tetyana Schroeder were raffled off and generated a lot of interest. We had a successful sale and will report to all at our next meeting.
