It was a big weekend for The Kentucky Orchid Society! We held our annual show and sale on September 29 and 30 at the St. Matthews Episcopal Church. There were hundreds of beautiful orchids on display from multiple orchid societies and growers, with judging by American Orchid Society judges. Several vendors were on hand to sell a variety of potted, mounted, and bare root orchids as well as hand-made ceramic pots and other orchid supplies. Raffles were held throughout the weekend with several lucky winners taking home beautiful plants, posters, potting mixes and pots. Free informational workshops ran each afternoon and society members fielded questions and offered growing tips to curious visitors.
We had multiple visitors on a lovely fall weekend and were quite pleased with our show. Producing such a successful event requires a group effort with a tremendous amount of preparation and hard work by multiple society members.
This year, we held a Tea Party on Saturday afternoon to say “thank you” to the many society members and friends who worked so hard to produce the show and to the vendors who honor us with their participation. It was an enjoyable event with several exotic hot teas accompanied by tasty cookies.
Enjoy these pictures from the Tea Party and we will soon post some pictures from the show itself.

Thanks to everyone who helped make this event possible!
